Copper & Brass Care Guide
Copper and brass have surfaces that respond to use and their surroundings. The right care depends on the finish of your particular piece. Follow any product-specific instructions supplied with your order.
Everyday cleaning
Use a soft cloth, mild soap and water where permitted by the product instructions. Rinse away soap and dry gently. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders, bleach and harsh chemical cleaners.
Unlacquered and patinated finishes
Unlacquered copper and brass may darken or develop patina over time. Water, humidity and everyday handling can affect the appearance. Polishing can remove patina or alter a decorative finish, so check the finish before applying a polish.
Coated and decorative finishes
Do not use metal polish, acidic cleaners or abrasive products on a coated, painted or deliberately patinated surface unless its care instructions specifically allow them. If you are unsure which finish you have, contact us before cleaning.
Sinks and faucets
Rinse and dry after use where practical. Avoid leaving cleaning products or standing residue on the surface. Use a qualified installer and confirm connection sizes, mounting requirements and compatibility before installation. Care guidance does not replace the installation instructions for your product.
Lighting and candle holders
Switch off electrical lighting and let it cool before cleaning. Keep electrical components dry and follow the supplied instructions. Never leave a burning candle unattended; keep candles away from children, pets and flammable materials.
Handmade character
Each piece is handcrafted, and subtle variations in texture, color, hammering, and finish may occur. These characteristics reflect the individual nature of artisan-made products.
